Biografía/Biography
"Siouxsie & the Banshees (cuya formación inicial estaba compuesta por: Siouxsie Sioux - Ballion, Steven Severin al bajo, Marco Pirroni a la guitarra y Sid Vicious a la batería) debutaron en septiembre de 1976 en uno de los primeros festivales punk del Club 100 de Londres. El grupo comenzó como una aventura y acabó llevando una fluida carrera comercial muy representativa de lo que el punk apuntó y lo que el post-punk puso en circulación.

Sus influencias van desde el proto-punk: The Velvet Underground, The Stooges; el punk: Sex Pistols; e incluso el glam: David Bowie. Todas estas bandas moviéndose alrededor de un ámbito alternativo. Se podría decir que Siouxsie & the banshees tomó alguna influencia de estas bandas y lo mezcló en un estilo que sólo pocos han podido interpretar: el post-punk. Del proto-punk tomó su excentricidad y lírica. Del punk tomó la fuerza escénica y musical y finalmente tomó del glam su estética. "
